Back from "vacation"

While my vacations are anything BUT vacations in the traditional sense these days, it was nice to get away from work for more than a weekend. I have another week scheduled towards the end of this month, so I'll be looking forward to that as well.

Of course, when I am off from my JOB, I can usually count on having to catch-up on things around the house that I've neglected to do since the last time I was off (for an extended period of time). Unfortunately, this time I also got a cold the VERY FIRST DAY I was off, so I felt miserable the whole time. It finally cleared up today - my first day backt o my JOB. Figures.

Anyway, I mentioned I wanted to take a few hours off during this time to really do some soul-searching on some ventures to kick-start my early retirement plans into gear. Well, suffice it to say I didn't get ANY such time as I was busy the whole time (yeah, even with a cold). My wife decided that this would be the perfect time to build the wall out back with the leftover limestone that's been sitting in a pile for the last 5 years. I managed to finish that "chore" yesterday, and I'm feeling every bit of the work today.

Ironically, though, I did come up with a short list of things that could provide some additional income. I don't want to divulge too much right now, but here are the general ideas:

1. A new web site. I can't say much more than that without giving the idea completely away. :-(

2. A method to secure intellectual property over the internet. (*)

3. An E-book. Actually several of them.

4. A web application for enterprise customers. (*)

5. A method to provide informational services for consumers. (*)

6. A device to help with #5. (*)

(*) - I have to get these ideas reviewed by a patent board at my company first, or risk being sued later. It's one of those things I had to sign when I got hired on here.
