Moving

It's been almost 9 years to the day since I moved from my previous home. I don't remember all the work involved in moving back then, but I sure remember it now. It seems each time a person moves, they collect about 10x more "stuff", and this time was no exception for us.

I started out by removing all the seats in our minivan and moving boxes and small items in it. After about 7-8 trips in the minivan and it looking like I hadn't moved a single thing, I realized it was going to take a while to move everything. Finally, last Saturday, I decided t get a rental truck to moved the large furniture. It took my FIL and I a full day to move all of the large furniture from one house to the next, and we still aren't completely through.

All I can say is NEVER AGAIN! NExt time I'll use professional movers no matter how much it costs me. LOL.

The things remaining to do are move our attic stuff and backyard furniture as well as clean the old house. I figure all of that should only take a weekend or two. I'm hoping to get our old house on the rental market in two weeks (knock on wood).

Ha! I know what you mean.. Two moves ago was the last time I moved myself. Now I always use professional movers. I even pay to have them pack stuff up. I can't stand moving and it's worth it to me to pay to have someone else do it!
