Please, please, PLEASE - the next time I say I'm going to do a HUD, PLEASE, someone talk me out of it. The latest shinannigans from my agent is this ... She got an email from HUD saying the contract should be delivered in about two business days. THEN, we will have to turn around and send it back to HUD in San Antonio, so it's looking like maybe next Wed before I will have the green light to do the inspection. But, of course, I've already scheduled everything for this Friday afternoon.
Therefore ...
I had to call the inspection company and cancel the inspection for Friday. I told the lady I'd probably call back next Wed to reschedule. I also called the water company and the lady said she'd hold my check until I give her a call next Wed to reschedule, also. The only holdout was the electric company. I had up until last night to call and cancel, or I would lose my deposit. I'm running a slight risk, but I'm just going to leave the flipping electric on all weekend at the house - screw it. I figure no one would go inside the house anyway, except MAYBE a RE agent.

That was my own experience almost exactly! I'll never do a HUD again, either! I know, I know--never say never.
Sounds like a headache, but at least it makes for good blogging! I've put some bids in on HUDs, but never won. Thanks for sharing what happens when you get one!
Thank you both!
If it's not painfully obvious in my posts, this deal already has my blood boiling. I'm hoping the nice 3-day weekend (along with the start of college football!) will calm me down some. LOL!
