It's bad enough we lost an hour by changing our clocks ahead this past Sunday morning as I don't have enough hours in the day as it is to do everything I need. My JOB is demanding more and more of my time these days due to an ongoing project that is getting a lot of exposure. I haven't been working longer hours, but the hours I do work are 100% used for actual work. I used to take a few breaks during the day to do some REI research, run numbers on houses, answer personal email, etc., but just can't do that now. Even my lunch break has been whittled down to nothing - I eat while I'm doing work for my JOB (usually). As I type this, I'm actually running a couple of builds, and waiting for a coworker to get back to me with an answer. Hopefully, in a week things will slow down a little enough to actually breathe.
And home life is no easier. The twins are starting to walk now, which means they need 100% attention. Before, I could just put them in a playpen and go do some work, but they have smartened-up and realized they'd rather be on the play mats walking around (which means someone has to be there).
It's also spring time (unofficially) here in central Texas and the live oak trees have just about shed all their winter leaves, which means YARD WORK. I have to set aside a full day this weekend (or next) to devote just to cleaning the back yard. I figure the leaves themselves will fill 15-20 bags, easily.
Still, I need to find time to ...
* Run by my CPA's office as my taxes are finished, and they need me to sign the forms for electronic filing (along with paying her for her work).
* Run some hard numbers on that 5-unit. I found some commercial lenders in the same area as the property, but didn't expect their rates to be so high. I still need to figure all my costs and if it still makes sense to buy it.
* Run figures on several properties the other agent I'm working with in that area gave me. She keeps sending my listings for SFR's even though I told her I was only interested in MF properties. However, some of the lsitings she has given me look too good to simply ignore. For example, a 1700sf property located near downtown for $9,000. She said it would be an ideal property to rent out to a business. Another was for $17,000 and the owner has had it listed for over 500 days. No huge repairs are needed (so she says), and it should make a decent rental. There are about 5 others I still ened to look at, too.
* Get my financial portfolio up-to-date to send to those commercial lenders. Unlike residential lenders, the commercial lenders want a more thourough profile of a person's finances, including a personal financial statement. I meant to do this over the weekend, but - you guessed it - NO TIME.

Hey, I hear ya! And, in my situation, I could at least get some stuff off my plate, except that it all depends on other people who don't care nearly as much! I'm really frustrated today--my career life lately has been like Chinese water torture.
Thanks Trisha. I need 26 hours in a day just to catch up on LAST weeks to-do list.
