Another Wasted Weekend
I did very little this past weekend to further my REI career. The majority of my weekend was spent entertaining my daughter and completing my 'honey-do' list. The little bit of time I did have, I ended up playing CASHFLOW 101. Before, I used to always play with a single human player and 1-5 computer players. This weekend, I played with 2-3 human players (all me, of course), so I could try out different approaches at the same time. Interestingly, I played one game that included the lawyer, airline pilot, and doctor - all occupations making $7k-$13k/year salaries - and all ended up in the Fast Track at about the same time. What I find is that it is EASIER to get out of the rat race when you have an occupation with a low salary. I can definately see the reasoning, too. I make a pretty good salary from my JOB, but I also have a lot of debt to offset it - thus, it will probably take me longer to get out of the rat race then someone who makes less, but also has a lot less debt than me.
