This was my original second entry ...
I guess it would also be good to track my costs associated with this venture. Negating time cost, here is what I have spent thus far:
Retire Young, Retire Rich
Robert Kiyosaki
$17.95
Cashflow the E-Game
Robert Kiyosaki
$99.00
Flipping Properties
by William Bronchick and Robert Dahlstrom
$18.95
The Weekend Millionaire's Secrets to Investing in Real Estate
Mike Summey and Roger Dawson
$14.95
Total: $150.85
I would also like to give my opinion about each of the items I purchased.
Retire Young, Retire Rich
I wrote about this book in my first entry. I thought Retire Young, Retire Rich was a good introductory book. It focused more on the why than the how.
Rating: 7/10
Cashflow the E-Game
I also wrote about this purchase in my first entry. The Cashflow game has its pluses and minuses. I think it is a good game to get a person's mindset focused on acquiring wealth, but the price tag is a little steep for a game that has practically no configuration. Also, as I said in my first entry, some of the outcomes are highly unrealistic.
Rating: 5/10
Flipping Properties
Most of the information I got from this book, I already gathered from web sites and other books regarding REI. It does have some information not found elsewhere, but it would have been better if I'd read it while in B&N and put it back on the shelf. Also, some of the things I read contradict things in other books regarding cashflow.
Rating: 4/10
The Weekend Millionaire's Secrets to Investing in Real Estate
Very good and detailed book. Not only walks the reader through several likeable scenarios, but gives differing viewpoints, and tells the reader how to become a good salesperson. Very good read on many standpoints. Plus it gives some good pointers to other resources, like Carlton Sheets' Real Estate Investor's Toolkit, which I plan to order once I start making some deals.
