Bad Storms Rolled Through Overnight

We are in the midst of a heat wave in central Texas with highs around and over 100-degrees, and forecasters earlier this week said the likelihood of rain in the next 7-8 days was very small. Well, it turns out last night was an anomaly as we got hit with a massive super-cell that caused high winds, hail, and even some reported tornadoes. The good thing about this storm is that it dumped a lot of much-needed rain to our area. It was relatively brief, but at least the plant life here can breathe a sigh of relief for a little while. Temperatures are again supposed to top out near or above 100-degrees the next few days.

The other (personal) good news is that our home and the two rentals appear to have been spared any damage. We were lucky in a sense that the violent part of the storm went a little west and south of us. There was a reported tornado in the town House #2 is located, but I think that may have been a false report as I haven't heard anything about it this am. Tis the season in this area for Mother Nature's wrath as we can go days or even months without any (significant) rain here, but also get an occasional wake-up call in the form of a nasty thunderstorm, tornado, or even hurricane.
