Wow. Just getting an inspection done has been tough going. I called the inspector yesterday morning to make sure we were still on for today. He said 'yes' but he would still need access into the property, since he doesn't have a HUD key. I emailed my agent telling her we would need access. She says she'll be in a seminar all day, but could possibly get out there during her lunch break. I asked if she could send someone else from her office out there instead. I didn't get a reply until the evening that she would be unlocking it today. Whew!
My in-laws came over yesterday to help celebrate my daughter's birthday. I decided to take them to the property, so they could see my first deal. When we got there, my mother-in-law said that they were looking into buying a house in the same area years ago. They decided not to buy because - get this - the neighborhood has a central propane tank that feeds all the homes. That answered my question regarding the gas issue I have been having. I just hope this doesn't become an issue when selling it.
