Goals for Week - Update

Here is an update of the goals I had for this week. The week still has three more days, so I still have a chance to get them all completed. :-)

Goal:  Update my personal financial statement.
Result:  Completed

Goal:  Call three local banks regarding investor loans.
Result:  TBD - I need to set aside some time today at lunch to at least start this.

Goal:  Call five ads from the local papers from investors to start networking more.
Result:  In Progress - I've emailed (and I've received email from) several investors. One of my to-do's this weekend is to call one of the investors I received an email from regarding a possible deal.

Goal:  Call/email five RE agents to develop a possible relationship.
Result:  In Progress - I emailed two that I saw in a circular who appear to deal mainly with foreclosures. I still haven't received a response via email, so I'll need to call them.

Goal:  Meet with CPA to start ball rolling on entity creation and tax services.
Result:  In Progress - I scheduled a meeting for next week, but an opening came up, so I'll be meeting with the CPA later this afternoon.

Goal:  Subscribe to an online preforeclosure service for one month.
Result:  On Hold - I decided to put this off until next month. The reason being, the online foreclosure site only lists those properties that are within 20 days of being foreclosed (yet another fabulous Texas law). Due to the way Texas handles foreclosures, I stand a better chance waiting until the first week of November to subscribe, which will give me ample time to handle any deals.

Goal:  Send postcards/letters to at least 10 sellers (or would-be sellers).
Result:  In Progress - I sent two letters out to a couple of abandoned properties I spoke about recently in another blog entry. No call back yet from either one.

Don't get discouraged about those real estate agents. If you're not contacting them about a particular property, they're probably going to put you off. Keep trying, though! Eventually, you'll find one that has the time and inclination to help you. You could just google "Austin", "Real Estate Agent", and "Investing" and see who you come up with. I'm sure that'll give you lots of results.

Good points, Trisha. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
