Goals

Each week, I always try to find a few minutes by myself to go over my goals for the week. Usually, I'll just sit down with a pen and paper in hand, and chicken scratch some things. Afterward, though, I'll lay the paper aside and get along with my life, thinking my mental picture of what I wrote down will carry over through the week. What I've realized, though, is that I may as well not even write anything down as I never can recall the things I wrote - or worse, I won't even remember I wrote anything!

That changes today.

I've decided instead to start writing my weekly REI goals down on my blog. I visit my blog around 3-5 times a day, so I'll make it a routine to revisit my weekly goal posting each day to recall the goals and update them when I've finished one or more.

Goals: Oct 17 - Oct 23, 2005
  1. Update my personal financial statement. Done
  2. Call three local banks and talk to the head of the loan department. TBD
  3. Call five ads from the local papers from investors to start networking more. I haven't called any investors, but I have made a few more contacts via email.
  4. Call/email five RE agents to develop a possible relationship. Emailed a few, but no response.
  5. Meet with CPA to start ball rolling on entity creation and tax services. Have meeting with CPA scheduled. (ongoing)
  6. Subscribe to an online preforeclosure service for one month. TBD
  7. Send postcards/letters to at least 10 sellers (or would-be sellers). TBD
I'll see how this goes.

Those are some good goals you've set there. If you called 3 lenders, 5 agents, and did targeted mailing every week, you'd find yourself in the middle of a really good thing!
