Well, after crunching numbers a few more times, I just couldn't make the most recent deal work. The monthly payments were too high, and retailing it wouldn't produce a profit. It was getting to be dinner time, so I decided to call the homeowner back after dinner. When I went to call them back later, I noticed I had a new voice message on my cell phone. I had turned the ringer off earlier, and had forgotten to turn it back on. Sure enough, it was the homeowner of the most recent deal asking if I had forgotten about her. So, I called her back and got her voicemail. I told her I was sorry, but the numbers just wouldn't work out for me. I also wished her luck, and told her I would pass her information to some "associates" I know who may be interested.
After leaving that message, I decided to call the owner of the mobile home who called me on Monday. When I called, a young girl answered the phone. I could tell by her voice she must not have been older than 7 or 8. I asked her if "Susan" was home (which is the name the lady left me). The young voice on the other end said Susan wasn't able to answer the phone at this time. I told her "Thanks" and that I would try again later. Unfortunately, I got busy with personal stuff and never got to call her back. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have left the girl my name and number. Oh well. Maybe I'll call back this evening.
