Sorry for not posting for almost a week. To be honest, this whole week has been very busy for me, so I don't have much to write about regarding REI. Now that my in-laws have been moved in, my time should be a little less demanding. In the few minutes I have had after work, I've used to re-read some of my REI books, which sparked a few light bulbs in my brain. I plan to go out tomorrow with my FIL and hang a LOT of signs in my area. It's been almost a month now since I last hung any signs, and my phone sure shows it. I did find it unusual that with all the signs my in-laws hung last week in another town, I received -0- calls. I know there are several investors that work that area, so maybe they - or the city - took them down. I'm also going to start a direct mail campaign that will target certain individuals. I thought about mass distribution to everyone in a subdivision, but that would be too much cost upfront. Instead, I am going to be sending personalized mailings to those people who are in dire straits. I'm sure they'll get plenty of mailings from other people, so I'll need to get creative in my approach.
Also, like Shaun, I went ahead and answered some interview questions on reiblog.org. I still feel a bit awkward about it, since I don't really feel like a "seasoned" investor yet.

Good for you, Steve! I'm glad you've given yourself some time to re-group. Sometimes, that's what it takes to build momentum.
You certainly need to things a bit differently in order to stand out from the pack of mailings. This is the part that seperates the men from the boys. Good luck getting things going.
