Error on HUD-1 for Offer #6

Well my agent just emailed me the settlement statement for Offer #6, and they erroneously charged me for the survey. I had already paid for the survey a couple of weeks ago. I called my agent immediately and she said that someone definately goofed, and that she would get with the loan officer and title people to get it straightened out. It really pays to go over these things with a fine-tooth comb. As it was, I was paying about $25 more than originally thought. Once this error is corrected I'll be paying about $435 less. Hopefully, they'll get this all straightened out before the end of the day, so I can get the cashier's check on the way home.

On another note, I called the water company and they will have the guy out tomorrow to turn the water on. Plus, my MIL may end up helping this weekend afterall. I still need to stop by Lowe's on the way home and get the locksets and have them rekeyed. Hopefully by Sunday evening, I can start to relax - nah!

Oh, good for you! A $435 savings probably gives you a little relief, right? I know how high your anxiety level is right now--I've been there. So, every little bit helps. But, shame on you for wanting to put your mother-in-law to work! Bad son-in-law! Hahaha! Just kidding.

Thanks Trisha. Actually, my MIL volunteered to help be the 'maid' for any houses I close on long before I even got this offer accepted. Even when it was accepted, she said she'd help clean. When I said she is a clean freak, I meant not only does she hate dirty houses, but she LOVES to clean. Once I get rolling with offers, I'll probably just hire a maid service to do the cleaning.

BTW, she always calls me her favorite son-in-law. Of course, being her ONLY son-in-law may have something to do with that. ;-P
