TX SB629 - Will it outlaw L/O's in Texas?

I was perusing the message board at REIPlace.com yesterday, and saw a message posted by a regular member from Houston. It seems the Texas legislature has written a bill that every REI in the state should be made aware of. What really caught my eye was that Bill Bronchick, the REI/lawyer guru, even chimed in on the bill's dramatic affects if it ever becomes law.

I haven't had the time to sit down and digest the text of the bill myself, but am going mainly by what I've read by others. It appears that the bill will make lease/optioning very hard to do in the future, if not impossible in a lot of circumstances. Here are a couple links to better educate everyone:

I urge every RE investor who does investing in Texas to at least read the text of the bill to become familiar with it. This is by no means the end of the world, but it could help you in the long run, if it passes or not. If you feel this will hurt your investing, I urge you to contact your local representatives and tell them how you feel (Bill Bronchick's discussion thread contains links and a generic letter for your use).
